Iram began her business and administration apprenticeship two years ago within the college’s very own business services team. Since starting, she has gained valuable experience and is beginning to plan her future having found a profession she’d love to have a career in.
Khalid had always been one for trying out new hairstyles and had never considered hairdressing as a career but once he read about the college’s hairdressing course he decided to give it a go. Khalid has completed his level 1 and 2 course and is currently doing level 3 as an apprentice.
After leaving school in 2012 Ben went straight into a Plumbing and Heating apprenticeship with Martins. In 2014 Ben completed his level 2 and is now currently doing his level 3. Ben won Building Services Apprentice of the Year – Plumbing and Heating at our apprenticeship awards and was the Overall Apprentice of the Year.
Nazmin left school and worked in a shop but after caring for her Grandmother following a stroke, she realised that could be an ideal career for her. An apprenticeship in health and social care opened doors for her to work in her dream organisation, the NHS.
Before doing an apprenticeship Lewis Jones was studying his A Levels. After deciding he wanted to do an apprenticeship instead of going to university Lewis got himself a Social Media apprenticeship at CrowdControlHQ.
Catherine Orsborn was working at a restaurant for three years before being offered an apprenticeship as part of the kitchen team. She is now in the process of completing it at Harlestone Heath Restaurant at the Wyevale Garden Centre i Northamptonshire.
Joseph Ellis has completed his apprenticeship in business administration and has now got a full time job as a Food Net Administrator at Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust, St Patrick’s Centre for Community Health.
Jack Sturdy came to South and City College to take part in an NVQ Plumbing and Heating course. He has developed his skills and recently came first in the regional heat SkillPlumb, a national competition that is part of WorldSkills.
