Thanks to his time at the college, Bobby has been a star candidate for AA, getting some brilliant feedback for his work ethic and skills. Roadside assistance is a very rewarding area to be working in within the automotive industry, as you know that you will be helping people in urgent need. Bobby said:
“I love working for the AA, and the variety of work. One moment I’m changing a wheel, the next I’m getting keys out of a locked car. At the college, I gained knowledge and confidence. From the basic L1 jobs like changing tyres up to L3 diagnostics, I was able to transfer my college skills to my job.”

Roadside Mechanic jobs have a starting salary of £30,000, with room for benefits and growth up to £60,000.
After studying his Level 3 with us and doing 3 months of training with the AA, they invested £60,000 into a new yellow van, diagnostic kit and iPhone for Bobby. It absolutely seems an Automotive course at South & City College Birmingham paid off hugely for him.
“The AA came out to me quite quickly. On arrival, Bobby was friendly and professional. He was so understanding of how I was feeling upset about my car tyre (I’d hit a pot hole in the road) but organised a replacement and everything went smoothly. Thank you so much for helping me.”
