College proudly becomes primary co-sponsor for BTF Awards

It’s not yet award season, but everyone was a winner on Monday. It was at the Building the Future Awards Pre-Event held at Shakespeare Martineau, and South & City College Birmingham announced that we will be a proud co-headline sponsor for the upcoming Building the Future Awards.

The Building the Future Awards launch this year, and will recognise the contributions of young people in the construction industry. This will be a perfect match with our college, as we are forever looking for ways to champion youth success stories and build Birmingham’s future, such as with our own Apprenticeship Awards. We live that goal in our courses, giving our students industry experiences and professional resources to help them become the best they can be – a driving force to our local industry.

There were many speeches on the night from co-ordinators of the awards and honoured guests alike, including by Zoe Bennett MA, BEM (Founder of the Multicultural Business and Community Champion Awards), Errol Lawson (Pastor, Leadership Coach, Trainer), and Professor Deborah Leary OBE D.Univ,FRSA (CEO of Forensic Pathways, Chair of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce).

Nominations for this year’s awards are now closed. The full awards ceremony will be held at The Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC in Birmingham, on the 17th November 2023 (6pm-late). The prize (alongside a trophy) is to receive some mentoring over 3 months by one of the judges. What a great opportunity for young people!
