We have a range of campuses which offer ESOL courses from Pre-Entry to Level 1. We offer both full and part-time courses. Full-time study programmes are available for 16-19 year olds and part-time courses available for adults. Our ESOL courses will help to support and develop your confidence with English. You will be supported by highly experienced ESOL tutors. As part of the programme you will also be working on improving your maths skills. The classes are designed to support you with English in everyday life and preparing you for work, progression onto further study and employment. You will also develop IT and employability skills.

About the course

We have courses to suit everyone level and needs. If you wish to improve and develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in the English language. It will also develop your knowledge in maths. These course are aims at non-native English speaker, looking to improve on their skills, develop to build confidence in using English in everyday life, education and employment. Teaching staff can support you to ensure you reach your potential. You will be continual assessed to support your progress throughout your programme to ensure you reach your potential. You will practice the skills you need to get a job or move onto vocational course or further academic studies to prepare you for employment.

You will work on the skills needs to prepare you for progression. Assessment take place throughout the year and you will be give an assessment overview to ensure you have a clear overview of theses assessments. Topics can vary in what you study, some topics are:
• Travel
• Work related tasks
• How to study well
• Developing employability skills
• Shopping
• Health

What do I need?

Depending on your prior qualification will depend on your level of course you are enrolled onto. There are no formal entry requirements, you will take an English assessment to find out what your current level of English is in reading, writing, speaking and listening. This will help and your tutor to identify areas that you need to develop and the level of course you will be enrolled onto.

Where can I progress next?

Successful students can progress onto the next level of ESOL or onto another course within the wider college. Depending on the level, you will have gained confidence to be an active part of your community or employment. We do our best to equip our learners to progress in their chosen career.
