Exploring Contemporary Themes in Working with Children and Families covers current issues like modern slavery, homelessness and mental health, ensuring relevance by regular review. The Dissertation enables independent research. Workshops start in semester one. Safeguarding and Child Protection in Policy and Practice covers historical and current concerns, while Leadership and Management in the Working with Children and Families Sector focuses on ethical leadership and management theories.
Prospective students must be 18 by August 31st when the program begins. They need at least 240 UCAS points or a Merit profile. GCSE English and math at grade 4 or above or equivalent skills are required. IELTS 5.5 is necessary, with a 5.5 in reading and writing. Relevant Level 3 qualifications, an approved Access to Higher Education Diploma, related work experience, or an international equivalent are also accepted.
