Being knowledgeable of the developmental, well-being and learning the needs of the client will be a common theme on the programme, you will develop an understanding of the skills and knowledge necessary to enable you to meet those needs and discover how you can respond in creative, reflective, and analytical ways to issues relating to construction management. Being mindful, of course, of the need to adopt a resourceful and reflective approach. As well as learning about management, practice, and provision within the field of construction at home we want our graduates to be outward looking with an awareness of global issues that relate to the field of construction such as global warming, energy efficiency, zero carbon and sustainable issues. You will become more confident to meet the challenges of a changing society especially within technological advances, competent as researchers in gathering data, and analysing it to evaluate and plan for change. Our graduates are our leaders in construction management who can, as professionals, demonstrate a real commitment to the ever- changing environment, managing change and leading others effectively to make a positive impact on construction sector. On achievement of a degree in Construction Management in Sustainability you will be able to progress onto post graduate or masters level study. Any further study depends on your degree classification to establish your point of entry. Modules are timetabled on a semester basis, part-time day release. Students will be expected to study two modules in semester 1, from September to January, followed by another two modules in semester 2, from February to June. This pattern of study will be repeated in year 2 with semesters 1 and 2. There are 5 mandatory modules and 2 optional modules depending on which pathway you choose.

• Individual Project (Feasibility Study) The module will introduce students to the skills necessary to successfully complete an Individual project to a high standard. This the module will cover: understanding the research of others, literature reviews, research planning, research methods and report writing. These skills will then be used to develop initial designs and costings for a multi-storey commercial building.
• Mechanical Services in Buildings The building services sector covers a wide variety of services this module will look at systems within a non-domestic building; to include design systems for sanitation, fire suppression and transport that help buildings work better and safer for occupants, owners and the environment.
• Mathematics in the Built Environment Students will also be able to perform the calculations necessary to establish anticipated performance of buildings. Students will be able to employ mathematical methods within a variety of contextualised examples; use analytical and computational methods to evaluate and solve engineering construction, civil engineering and building services problems; interpret data using statistical techniques and ap
