Fashion & Textiles Award
Have you always wanted to learn how to sew and make clothes, have you wanted to gain some basic design and research skills? If so this is the course for you. The Level 1 Award in fashion is designed to provide an opportunity for those with an interest in fashion to explore materials, methods and processes that support many creative, design and media activities, and you can begin to develop related skills.
The qualification structure will provide a base of skills and knowledge, enhance self-confidence and impart an understanding of the career demands and opportunities within fashion. The Level 1 Award in Fashion will provide students with an introduction to pattern cutting and sewing skills, enabling them to both re-engage with education and acquire the requisite knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to further education or employment within the creative industries.
On the course you will also get to take part in an end of year fashion show and employer projects. You will be able to work with specialists who also work in the industry and will teach you a range of skills.
To join this course, you will need a commitment and enthusiasm for fashion, textiles, sewing and pattern cutting.
Upon completion you can progress onto our Level 1 Diploma in Fashion
