The qualification structure will provide a base of skills and knowledge, enhance self-confidence and impart an understanding of the career demands and opportunities within art, design and media. After completion of the course, you can progress on to a diploma.
The UAL Level 1 Award in Fashion & Textiles is designed to provide an opportunity for those with an interest in Fashion & Textiles to explore materials, methods and processes that support many Fashion & Textiles activities, and to begin to develop related skills. The qualification structure provides a linked introduction to broader art, design and media contexts. It is intended that this initial experience of Fashion & Textiles activity will provide students with an early test of their commitment and interest in the subject. It will also measure their ability to sustain a focused exploration of the skills, knowledge and understanding for progression within Fashion & Textiles education.
To join this course, you will need a commitment and enthusiasm for fashion, textiles, sewing and pattern cutting.
Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress onto our Level 1 Diploma.
