About the course

If you already have a basic level of IT, this course builds on those existing skills. You may already have a Level 1 ITQ qualification and want to progress further. You will increase your skills and knowledge with popular software applications used in every organisation, such as Word, Excel and Access which will provide you with the assets you need in today's workplaces and offices. As well as essentials like more advanced use of Word, you will learn software skills in two very key areas, spreadsheets and databases which will give you the edge when you are applying for office admin jobs or becoming self-employed.

What you will study:
• Database software (Access)
• Spreadsheet software (Excel)
• Word processing (Word: advanced features and efficient document production) or Presentation Software

What do I need?

You will need to have English ESOL or Functional Skills at Level 1 as well as some previous IT experience to a Level 1 standard either from previous studies or from your work experience.

Where can I progress next?

This course is aimed at helping you gain the necessary skills for employment but there are progression opportunities on other IT/Computing courses at higher levels should you wish to take those skills higher.
