The aims of this qualification is to give candidates the opportunity to develop their:
• knowledge and understanding of a range of complex administrative functions and activities
• skills to work effectively and carry out a range of complex administrative tasks and activities in a business environment, to the standard required by business.
These qualifications have been developed so they are free from any barriers that restrict access or progression and therefore promote equal opportunities.
Students will study the following: Mandatory units (Total Credits 8): Producing complex business documents Understanding functions and roles within business organisations In addition students will undertake both level 2 and level 3 units. Level 2 Units (Total credits 10): Organising business travel and accommodation Organise meetings Handling diary systems Level 3 Units (Total Credits 19): Supporting recruitment and selection Verbal communication in business Support business meetings Legislation affecting organisations Working in an administration team
Successful completion of OCR level 2 Business Administration or 4 GCSE’s to include English GCSE grade 4 above or Functional Skills level 2 Applicants with extensive work experience will also be consider
There are a number of progression routes for students.
Successful students can progress:
• to employment
• within employment in senior administrative roles
• to further study in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE)
