The course is assessed via a combination of coursework and controlled examinations and upon successful completion will allow you to enter higher education. You are advised to contact universities prior to applying to check that you will be considered for your chosen degree with this diploma.
All students on the Access to HE Diploma (Social Science and Health) course will study the following modules:
• Criminology
• Psychology
• Social policy
• Social work
• Sociology
• Biology
• Health studies
Applicants are required to have a Grade 4 or above in GCSE maths and English/English Language. Selection is on the basis of an interview and completing an initial assessment. You should have substantial work experience in an area related to your chosen career. Students who achieve this qualification can progress onto university. This course is particularly suitable for degrees including nursing and other health professions, social work, psychology and sociology. This course is also suitable if you wish to progress to HNC/HND's or Foundation Degrees in health or social science related areas.
