Access to Higher Education Diplomas are designed as an alternative to A-levels. About the course

The course includes a wide range of social science related topics including Law; Criminology; Sociology and Psychology which will maximise your opportunities for progression. Access to Higher Education Diplomas are validated by the QAA and are designed for students who have been away from studying for some time. At the end of the diploma you will gain 60 Credits in total which are graded at Pass; Merit or Distinction.

You will study a range of units from the following modules:
• Criminology
• Sociology
• Psychology
• Research Project
• Skills for learning (study skills)

What do I need?

Applicants are required to have Level C (4) or above in GCSE maths and English/English Language (or equivalent). Selection is on the basis of an interview and completing an initial assessment.

Where can I progress next?

At the end of the course students go on to university to study a range of criminology/social sciences related degrees.
