Our construction centre is the perfect place for you to develop your skills and knowledge of the carpentry and joinery professions. You will benefit from fully equipped workshops with industry standard equipment, and tutors, who have a wealth of industry experience, to help you get to grips with this fast-paced industry. The college regularly competes at regional and national competitions, and you will be able to showcase your skills as part of our competition squad. Your learning will also be supported and extended through regular visits from construction companies and other educational visits.

• First fix- partitions, frames and stairs
• Second fix - doors, locks, mouldings kitchens etc.

You'll need to have completed the Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery at Level 1 if you are 16-18. If you are aged 19+ then you will go direct onto a Level 2. If you have not achieved your maths and English to GCSE Grade 4, you will study for these alongside this course.
You can progress to the Diploma in Carpentry Level 3. This course will provide you with the necessary skills, training and knowledge to progress to either become an apprentice site carpenter or gain employment in the construction industry.
