About the course

This is an inspiring and challenging course for all skilful mathematicians with a good GCSE grade. The course is rewarding and highly structured to meet the needs of all students. Members of staff have a wealth of experience working with students; some have taught the course for over 28 years. You will have access to course materials, past papers and special topic sheets which must be completed after each major section has been taught. Regular assessments is an integral part of the course. All course materials are uploaded on to Google Classroom allowing all students access to notes and revision materials at all times whilst studying the course.

This is a full time, day course which must be studied alongside two other AS courses. A Level pathways are designed to prepare you for higher education and beyond. The A level course in Mathematics takes two years to complete and cannot be completed in a single year of study.

What do I need?

You will need 5 GCSEs Grades 4 or above, two of which must be Grade 6. You must have GCSE maths (Grade 6 or above) in the summer of the year that you intend to study the course. So grade 6 or higher in GCSE maths summer 23 for study in August 23, also need English (Grade 4 or above).

Where can I progress next?

An A level in Mathematics is an essential requirement for many degree courses, in particular for data analysis, engineering or physics. As well as this, students go on to have successful careers in all areas; science and technology in particular.

Is this course free?

This course is part of the government funded Lifelong Learning Guarantee and is available free of charge to adult learners aged 19+ without a first full level 3 qualification.
