Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science)
Overview
This full-time course is designed for students who have been away from study for some time and want to go to university. It is the equivalent of studying three A Levels in 9 months, so it is a very intensive programme. You will study Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Skills for Learning.

Course description
The aim of this course is to provide a broad scientific knowledge for students interested in continuing their science education. The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, practical experiments and self-directed learning. It is assessed via a combination of coursework and controlled examinations.
The Access To HE Diploma is made up of 45 graded credits (15 each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 15 ungraded credits (Skills for Learning). You need to complete all 60 credits in order to pass the course. At Bordesley Green there is an option to study a bio-chemistry pathway. You are advised to contact universities prior to applying to check their specific entry requirements.
All students attend weekly tutorials which are designed to assist with study skills, confidence building and applying for university.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
