Access to Higher Education Diploma (Computer Science)
This QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) approved programme is for people who wish to take computing related courses at university, but do not have the required entry qualifications. It has been designed for students who have been away from studying for some time.
Access to HE Diploma courses are a one year, Level 3 programme of study and are designed to prepare students for study at university. They are aimed at people who would like to study at degree level, but who left school without the usual qualifications, such as A Levels. Many Access to HE students go on to succeed at university and beyond, with a large number of students pursuing new careers in a variety of subjects. At the end of the year, students go on to university to study a range of computing degrees or diplomas including BSc (Hons) Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Computer Networks and Security, BSc Computer Games Technology.
What areas will I study?
You will take modules in the following subjects:
- Advanced mathematics *Systems analysis and design
- Service management
- Skills for learning
Help with study skills, computing and maths will be available and you will have weekly tutorials with your personal tutor.
