This QAA approved programme is for people who wish to take a degree at university, but do not have the required entry qualifications. It has been designed for students who have been away from studying for some time.
Access courses are designed as an alternative to A levels. At the end of the course students go on to university to study on a variety of degree programmes.
All students on the Access to engineering will take the following modules: Skills for Learning Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering
Help with study skills, computing and maths will be available and all students have weekly tutorials with their personal tutor .
Applicants are required to have C or above in both maths and English/English Language. Selection is on the basis of an interview and completing an initial assessment.

Students who successfully complete this programme will be able to apply to universities offering diplomas and degree courses in Engineering and related degree courses.
