Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health Professionals) - Fast Track to Nursing)
This course is designed for adult students who want to access university so that they can commence a university course or higher apprenticeship. It is the equivalent of three A Levels, which could be completed in 6 months or up to one academic year, making it a very intensive programme but at a pace that suits you. You will study skills for learning, social science (sociology/psychology), health studies and biology.
The course will be delivered on-line with access to tutor support
The course is assessed via a combination of coursework and controlled exams. Each subject offers 5 units, each unit is worth 3 credits. You will need 60 credits in order to pass the course. You are advised to contact universities prior to applying, to check that you will be considered for your chosen degree or higher apprenticeship if you pass the diploma.
Most universities require evidence of 'recent study' which means you should be planning to go to university within the next year. You will attend weekly tutorials which are designed to assist with study skills, confidence building and applying for university.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
