ESOL Introduction to Hairdressing and Barbering Entry 3 Certificate
This course will give you a taste of the hairdressing and barbering industry with added English and maths support. You will start to build your knowledge of hair and beauty operations and the skills required to work in a salon or barber shop, such as customer service.

On this course you will start to build the practical skills and knowledge that you need to start a career in the hairdressing or barbering industry. You will learn to perform basic tasks successfully by trying out practical skills in our fully equipped salons.
You will work in our purpose built hair salons or barbershop, using high street branded products and we are stockists of professional products such as American Crew, Reuzel barbering products Wella, Milkshake, Schwarzkopf and Keracare.
All your teachers are highly experienced that have expertise in all hair types, which will ensure you are able to offer services to a wide variety of clients, and they will encourage you to develop your own personal barbering/ hairdressing style. The barbering/hairdressing team are passionate about ensuring the next generation of barbers/hairdressers are highly skilled and ready to gain employment. This maybe in high street salons, cruise ships, hotels, self-employed, and free lance.
Our salons are used by Wella and Reuzel/ Milkshake to offer regular seminars to salons nationwide
Assessments will be both written and practical. A basic hairdressing/Barbering kit will be required and can be purchased from the college; it contains the essential equipment needed, including a uniform which is mandatory in all the salon sessions. The approximate cost is £80 although this is subject to change.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.

You will be working towards Entry Level 3 maths and English. If you hold Entry 3 or higher qualifications in maths and English you are able to enrol onto a hair and beauty course without ESOL.
