Door Supervisors (GATEWAY)
This four week programme is aimed at taking advantage of opportunities that will be available in security for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in 2022.
The programme is aimed at those who are unemployed.
Sector-based work academy programmes (SWAPs) are an opportunity to learn new skills and get experience of working in industry. This programme is aimed at opportunities that will be available in security for the Commonwealth Games.
The programme is aimed at those jobseekers aged 19 (before 31 August 2021) and over who are claiming either Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), to build confidence, improve job prospects and enhance CVs.
What areas will I study?
The course is a four week programme and will cover the following:
- Introduction to Security
- SIA Training
- First Aid at Work
- Health and Safety
- Employability Skills
Training is a mix of portfolio based assessment and practical scenarios including conflict management and physical intervention. This will give you the experience needed to take up positions being offered.
The cost of the SIA badge will be covered on successful completion of the SIA assessments.
