Summary

This one year course is suitable for learners wishing to work in early year’s education and care. It is perfect for those with little or no experience in childcare and will prepare you to work with children between birth and five years, with a knowledge of children up to seven years. As part of the course, you will need to complete practical work placements which will build your skills and confidence with working with children.

Description

The course covers a diverse range topics relating to childcare, including children's development, how to look after children, learning about the importance of a healthy diet in a child's development.

You will build a portfolio of evidence, and will assessed on projects and assignments directly linked to working with children including your work placement, written assignments and other internal assessments.

Entry Criteria

You will need 4 GCSEs grade 3-9 including English and maths or a Level 2 qualification in functional skills in English and maths.
