Course description

You will learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. You will develop text-based programming skills to design and develop their own computer program.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.

What areas will I study?

The programme covers types of programming: object oriented, event driven, procedural, graphical/visual. Languages include: Python, Java, C++, Visual Basic, PHP, Perl, Scratch. Technical skills development also includes: environment components such as integrated development environment (IDE), tool boxes and controls, toolbars, predefined functions, screen templates, help menus, debugging tools.
