Ceramic Wall & Floor Tiling Diploma
Tiled surfaces are becoming increasingly popular in domestic and commercial buildings. On this course you will learn how to prepare and create tiled wall and floor surfaces, gaining practical hands-on experience in our purpose built workshops. You will learn about sand and cement screeds, preparation methods and gain an in-depth understanding of the construction industry.
Wall and floor tilers are needed for most domestic and industrial construction project and you could be tiling kitchens and bathrooms or laying a precision hard wearing floor in a modern office or shopping centre.
You will be introduced to the world of construction at our dedicated training facility based at our Bordesley Green Campus. We have full-scale workshops, where you will be taught by qualified, experienced staff that have all had industry based experience within their vocational areas. They will guide and assist you in your learning and help you to fully understand the particulars of this profession. State of the art workshops, equipped with professional quality tools, means that you will be learning in an environment which simulates a real-life building site.
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course, this will involve both practical and theoretical aspects to enable you to complete unit assessments on-line and practical assessments at the end of each unit.
16-19 year old learners are also required to attend English and maths lessons, either as a Functional Skill or GCSE, unless they are exempt and have previously attained a GCSE grade 4 and above. They are also required to attend tutorial sessions, which provides a full learning experience and contributes to the Study Programme Framework.
