Summary

Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the examination of electrical equipment to ensure they are safe to use. This award gives the learner an understanding of the management, theory and practical requirements of the IET code of practice. This PAT testing course is ideal for those who wish to take control of the entire portable appliance testing within their company or offer a standalone service to companies. It is open to all and can be a viable way of providing additional skills and earning some extra income.

Description

This qualification will enable you to deliver a PAT Testing service and also manage the business side of the PAT Testing for a company and to also, manage the operators who are carrying out the inspections.

Candidates may bring their own test instruments for use on the course provided they produce a current calibration certificate. Candidates are also required to a have a copy of the IET Code of Practice Book.
