Overview

This course is designed for those who wish to understand the basics of electrical installation. It is also suitable for those wishing to change careers, to puruse a career in electrical installation.

Course description

The course consists of a number of units which assess your competence and ablity over a wide range of activites. There will be a focus on health and safety and correct working practices. You will be taught largley around practical sessions in our electrical installation workshop.

Students on the day mode of attendance will also be offered vocational English and mathematics sessions to improve their skills in these subjects to prepare them for progressing onto the next level of study.

What areas will I study?

The course focuses on a number of specialist topics designed to introduce you to the electrical industry. These include, but are not exclusive to, electrical theory, constructing PVC wiring, systems and joining and threading conduit.

You will also study, introduction to health and safety in construction and electrical specialist units.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements; however you will have an interview and initial assessment.

Where can I progress to next?

Students who complete this course may progress onto the two-year 2365 Diploma Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations.
