Online Learning for Everyday Skills in Maths and English
Can't get to College? Want to learn independently? Want to improve your reading, writing or maths skills?
South & City College Birmingham recommends a range of free Open University online courses in 'Everyday English' and 'Everyday maths'.
These FREE online courses will enable you to improve your current knowledge and gain additional skills. The topics are based upon skills you use in everyday life and you'll learn at a pace that suits you. The courses are perfect if you are looking to upskill at work, support your children with their school homework or just to improve your career prospects.
The courses are available at two levels, allowing you to choose a starting point that best suits your current ability and aspirations. There are no set start dates - so you can do this before you start a college course or along side one, or you can just learn independently and contact the college if you want to get a full Functional Skills qualification. Each online course can be completed with as little as 48 study hours.
What are the OpenLearn courses like?
The OpenLearn courses are divided into a series of easy-to-use sections with interactive quizzes, information sheets and activities to motivate and inspire you.
