L2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions
This qualification is designed for adult learners looking to start work in, or are already working in health and social care, who would like an understanding of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.
It is suitable for jobseeker or adults who are returning to learning or those looking for a career change and are interested in working in the healthcare sector.
This course is delivered as a blended qualification which is a mixture of online learning and tutor support workshops.
This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:
- various common health conditions
- monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions.
The purpose of this qualification is to give learners currently working in, or intending to work in, adult health and social care an awareness of a range of common health conditions. Learners may then progress to additional qualifications to gain a more indepth understanding of specific health conditions.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
What areas will I study?
To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the chosen units. Grades are not awarded. The Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions is internally assessed. Mandatory unit: Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions Optional units include:
- Understand cardiovascular disease
- Understand respiratory disease
- Introductory awareness of sensory loss
- Stroke awareness
- Diabetes awareness
