Healthcare, Care and Childcare Technical Certificate
Childcare, health and social care jobs can be very rewarding, with the potential to help care for people of all ages in a wide range of work settings.
This Level 2 Technical Certificate in Healthcare, Care and Childcare aims to provide you with the knowledge, skills and practical experience required for entry into employment within these sectors or a higher level qualification.
As of 11th November all adults aged 18 or over employed or volunteering must have received both doses of a MHRA approved COVID-19 vaccine before they are able to enter any CQC regulated care or nursing home. Therefore, if you are 18 or over (or will turn 18 during your course) you must have already received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or, be willing to receive both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine following enrolment or, provide medical evidence as to why you are unable to receive a vaccine.
The course is taught and assessed through a combination of theory and practical elements covering a range of skills and knowledge across these sectors. Not only will you be taught practical skills in class, you will also have the opportunity to put these into practice during your year long placement in a relevant industry setting. This could include a care home, nursery or hospital.
As this qualification is designed to prepare you for employment as well as the next level of study, you will be assessed on your practical skills in addition to you knowledge.
What areas will I study?
You will cover a number of key areas in this qualification such as safeguarding, values and behaviours, supporting healty living and many more.
Your assessment will be 60% internally marked course work and an externally marked exam worth 40% of your final grade.
