Summary

This NCFE qualification will introduce you to the world of photography and is ideal if you are interested in a career in the photographic industry. You will learn about the digital camera, develop your technical and creative skills and study the work of famous photographers. You will be introduced to landscape, studio and portrait photography and use computers and software such as Adobe's Photoshop.

Description

You will work on projects that will allow you to experiment with different techniques, equipment and materials. You will also learn about the legal constraints of a photographer, working to a brief, using lighting and working in the photographic industry. The course will also help improve literacy and numeracy skills. You will be assessed throughout the course by assignments and coursework. You will also need to undertake a test which will be either a paper-based test, a set task, or an online exam.

Entry Criteria

You will need four GCSEs grade 2 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

What Next

You could progress on to a Level 3 qualification in photography at the college, another Level 3 course or seek employment in photography, for example as a photographic assistant.
