Overview

This is a Level 2 qualification designed to provide a standardised approach for the delivery and assessment of the knowledge and skills requirements. It also provides the knowledge requirements for its related Vocational Competence Qualification (VCQ) and forms the knowledge component of the Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Light Vehicle).

Course description

This VRQ offers an ideal step to the Vocational Competence Qualification (VCQ) for those who are employed, and wish to continue with their studies. This is knowledge at Level 2 which meets that of the related VCQ. Achievers of this VRQ can use it as credit against the knowledge required for the corresponding VCQ.

This qualification also forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for the Light Vehicle). When an apprentice has achieved a Level 2 Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and train in other ways from this firm base.

As part of your programme you may be expected to study maths and English.
