This course introduces the techniques and skills needed to progress in music technology and media. It incorporates the use of music technology and media production skills. It also offers the chance to produce video and audio along with the skills related to media.
The Level 1 Music and Media course is both a practical and theoretical. The qualification is formed of practical workshops, lectures and studies skills and culminates in an End of Year Show. Students will work on and build a portfolio of music and interactive media work. Students will have the opportunity to participate in live projects and briefs.
What areas will I study?
The programme of study includes, Functional Skills/GCSE English and maths.
One-to-one tutorial and group tutorial sessions.
All aspects of the course are designed to develop employability skills. Units include:
- Explore interactive media products and processes
- Understand and use computer systems in an interactive media design environment
- Explore Ideas and create interactive media content
- Assemble interactive media products to produce final work
- Working in the music industry
- Sound and audio production
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements, except a interest in media, commitment to learn and a desire to succeed.
Where can I progress to next?
Students who gain a strong pass will be able to progress to either Level 2 Music or Level 2 Media Production. Successful candidates will eventually progress into careers such as graphic design, photography, camera operator, props media, editor and post production or music producer.
