Independent Living Skills
If you want to focus on preparing for a useful and interesting adult life, developing skills to live as independently as possible at home and in the community - this course may be what you need.
You will work on individual goals which could include handling money, using public transport, communication skills (speaking/signing, listening, reading and writing), using community facilities, practical life skills and confidence.
The course is a mixture of practical skills and classroom sessions to improve knowledge, skills and understanding and achieve student's goals.
The course will include:
- Local trips, visits and enrichment activities
- Regular tutorial with personal tutor
- Specific sessions to improve basic skills
Students will work towards units from a qualification in Living Independently.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
