The Environmental Course
Overview
This course will help you understand how people affect the environment. It will teach you how you can positively impact the environment and get you involved in practical activities to help protect it. You will also have the opportunity to do conservation work in the community.
You will have the opportunity to take part in fun litter picking activities, visiting recycling services and a lot of exciting places that help the environment. You will also be able to take part in other enrichment activities to improve your confidence and develop your social skills.
Course description
During your programme, there will be a focus on leadership and team building activities to improve your skills for employment. Our friendly and specialist staff will offer the extra encouragement that you may need as you start the next stage of your learning. You will be fully supervised during all activities, trips and visits.
You will develop the following skills and abilities; *Understand how recycling impacts on the environment
- An understanding on how we affect the environment and how we can make a positive difference Have an awareness of conservation initiatives Being part of a community that makes a difference
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
What areas will I study?
Build your confidence Improve your independent living skills *Improve your communication and leadership skills
- Preparation in employability, and development skills
- Preparation for Functional Maths and English, which may lead to Functional Skills qualifications
You will also study for a Certificate in Using Employability Skills and improve your English and maths, to build the tools you need for improving your independence or the next step in your career pathway.
