The Tourism and Hospitality Management FdA will help individuals to develop technical skills and knowledge alongside business acumen for management careers in the hospitality, tourism and events industries. Tourism and hospitality are global industries and major contributors to national and international economic development.


Advancement for graduates in these industries can be rapid. Diverse career opportunities are available across the wide spectrum of the hospitality and tourism industry and in sectors such as Conference and Exhibition Management, Attractions Management, Resort Management and Development, Destination Marketing and Travel Services Management.

Entry Criteria

Entry onto the FdA programme is via one of two routes; Applicants who have completed a level 3 programme of study and attained a minimum UCAS 280 tariff points or 112 UCAS tariff points (on the new tariff points system) at this level are accepted onto the programme. Alternatively, applicants that do not meet these tariff points but have relevant industry experience will also be considered upon interview.

Applicants are also required to have grade C or above in GSCE English Language and math's or hold an equivalent Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English and math's. Applicants may also be required to provide academic references.

A minimum enrolment of 12 is required for the opening of any class. The College reserves the right to cancel or change a class, course or programme if there is a significant reduction in attendance, or where the minimum enrolment is not achieved, or due changes beyond our control. 14 days notice will be given in the event of course cancellation.

What Next

On completion of this Foundation Degree you can progress onto the final stage BA (Hons) Hospitality and Tourism Management at UCB which is accredited by the University of Birmingham. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to move into a wide variety of areas within the industry, specialising in areas such as human resources, marketing, public relations and financial management within hotel, resort and event management organisations.
