This HND focuses on film and broadcasting production, aiming to develop students' knowledge and skills in moving image. Students will undertake a variety of roles such as producer and director, alongside development of practical skills in promotional video, music video, documentary and television news production.
The College is based in the heart of Birmingham's creative quarter in the city centre, only 10 minutes walk from New Street Station. Digbeth is home to numerous creative enterprises and music venues. With regular performance and music events in our 300+ seat industry standard auditorium, students will produce multi-camera recordings using up to 8 cameras with vision mixer, sound recording tracks, crane & Jibs, allowing students to perform a variety of job roles from director to camera assistant.
Our location shooting kit includes DSLR cameras with a range of lenses, Blackmagic Design cinematic cameras as well as specialised TV studio equipment from BlackMagic Design and Newtek. For post production we use various editing packages available including; Adobe Premiere; Final cut X; Davinci Resolve; Adobe After effects and Fusion 8. There will be opportunities to undertake productions commissioned by local and national organisations, developing links, working with clients as well as developing skills and strategies that will enhance your future employability. Students will experience a professional working environment and productions.

The HND in Creative Media Production (Moving Image) prepares students for a range of careers in the media sector including those at technician level such as video technician, audio visual technician (e.g. video editing and live events), studio assistant. Students can also progress onto a top up to degree level. The point of entry will depend on the chosen institution, the subjects studied and the grades achieved at HND.
Learners must be aged 18 years on or before 31st August of the academic year that the programme commences.
A minimum of 48 UCAS points which may be gained from the following qualifications:
