Don’t let others build the country’s future

Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) and South & City College Birmingham have partnered to offer opportunities for those aged 19+ to reskill and retrain for a career in the construction industry, working on the High Speed 2 (HS2) project.

An information event, where you can speak directly to tutors and BBV staff, is to be held at the Bordesley Green campus (B9 5NA) from Monday 6th September. Register by emailing TheHub@sccb.ac.uk by midday on Friday 3rd September to secure your place or to find out more.

You could be earning more than £400 a week, depending on the job role, with full training provided, job security and progression opportunities. Careers are available in general operations and a range of higher skilled roles. Whether you are beginning a new career, have been made redundant or are simply seeking a whole new direction, South & City College can support you in your journey.

What is HS2?

Phase One of HS2, which is already under construction, will see a new 140-mile high-speed railway line constructed from London to Birmingham. The purpose of HS2 is to increase capacity and improve the speed of trains between London and the West Midlands, creating an economic powerhouse in the north. New stations are being constructed & the project will need about 25,300 workers.

BBV is building the West Midlands section of HS2’s Phase One route, 50 miles in length and stretching from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. This will include over 40 viaducts, 66 overbridges and four motorway crossings.

Don’t let others build the country’s future. Become a part of history and join the expanding team to help build Britain’s new railway. Register by emailing TheHub@sccb.ac.uk by midday on Friday 3rd September to secure your place.
