GREATER BIRMINGHAM & SOLIHULL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Have you heard about the government established high-quality institutes of technology (IoTs). South & City College Birmingham is proud to partner in the Greater Birmingham & Solihull IoT, which was successful in its application through a government-led competition.

Students across our Engineering and Computing T-Level courses automatically become Institute of Technology Learners and can take advantage of the facilities and opportunities provided by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology (GBSIoT).

Institutes of Technology are collaborations between further education (FE) providers, universities and employers. They specialise in delivering higher technical education (at Levels 4 and 5) with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects.

IoTs focus on the specific technical skills needs required in their area. They provide employers with a skilled workforce and students with a clear route to technical employment.

What is an Institute of Technology?

An Institute of Technology (IoT) is an exciting place to gain top-quality training and qualifications in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM)-based subjects.

Located across England, IoTs are a national network of partnerships between local colleges, universities, and leading employers.
