Kyle Bentley, an Access to Health student who graduated with us earlier this year, returned to our Bournville Campus recently to give current Access students advice on what to expect at university and how to apply.

Kyle is currently in his first year at Birmingham City University studying a BSc to eventually become an adult mental health nurse.
The advice he gave included talking about: the urgency to get personal statements and forms started now, well before the deadline, attending as many university open days as possible and the experiences of his first six weeks at university.

There was an extensive question session, where our current students were very interested in getting answers about work placements. Work placements are a prominent feature for every year of this degree course.

Kyle’s ambition is to work in a secure mental health unit once he has graduated and we wish him every success.
