125 Job Centre Plus ESOL and ESOL students enjoyed a British Values Day with British Values themed activities and a variety of guest speakers including Yvonne Mosquito, Lord Mayor of Birmingham, who gave an inspirational and moving talk that touched a chord with many of our students. Afterwards, students asked her questions and found out that her gold chain dates from 1863 and is worth £1 million!

Students learned about Fundamental British Values and their positive impact on our daily lives.

Other great speakers included Abdullah Rehman MBE, Detective Inspector Mohammed Yousaf from West Midlands Police, Saheed Khan from the Army, and, in the afternoon, PCSO Jonathan Fox and Ziauddin

Yousafzai, father of Malala Yousafzai, followed by a British Quiz Kahoot - students impressed us with their knowledge of Britain!

Many thanks to Abdi Elmi for organising the event, the ESOL tutors at Bournville, and everyone else involved including Mohammed Zafran.
