Talent scouts from ITV’s The Voice headed to South & City College Birmingham, looking for the next sensational singing act. Several students of the College took the opportunity to audition for this popular TV show.

Level 3 Music Performance student Utelka Johnson sang Tom Odell’s Magnetised a cappella. This was the second time she had auditioned for the show. “I auditioned for the show last year and got through the first few rounds.” She said. “I hope that I can get further through the process this time.”

Other students taking part were all new to auditioning at this level but they loved the experience, despite being nervous. They will be hearing from the ITV with regards to the next steps in the coming weeks.

Nils Edstrom, Music Lecturer added, “This was a great opportunity for our students. It demonstrated how talented, well-prepared and confident our students are, to be able to take advantage of this potential opportunity. Well done to all those that took part.”
