South & City College in partnership with HR Dept who specialise in professional HR services will be holding a FREE HR workshop on the 25th September 2019, at our Digbeth campus, from 09:00 – 12:00pm, with networking at the start and refreshments provided.
Human Resources (HR) are a critical part of all organisations. HR deal with employees and related issues (compensation, benefits, recruiting, culture and more). Many companies (in particular SMEs) can lack the resources to efficiently and swiftly deal with all HR related matters.
This workshop will be a valuable opportunity for companies without a HR department, or those in need of additional support on expert matters. The workshop will be led by Omar Rashid (director of HR Dept and Executive Committee Member of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce). Omar is a HR professional with over 10 years of experience across a wide range of industries.
You will gain knowledge on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from: attracting, developing, to end-of-contract. You will learn more about contracts and disciplinary issues. In addition, the workshop will be useful on issues regarding the current Employment Tribunal process (regarding disputes between employers and employees over employment rights), being legally compliant and dispel some HR myths! You will also have the opportunity to engage and network with other businesses from 09:00 – 09:30.
The Business Elevator Project is a partnership between South & City College Birmingham, Solihull College and BMet, to support small to medium sized local employers and micro businesses through the ESF funded project.
