18 year old Jonathan Gilmour from Sheldon, has just completed the first year of Level 3 Animation, Visual Effects and Games at South & City’s Digbeth campus.

“I’ve always known that I wanted to study gaming.” Explains Jonathan. “Unfortunately my English GCSE result wasn’t quite enough to go straight onto a Level 3 course after school, so I studied Level 2 Media for a year and did really well and completed my GCSE English alongside my Level 2.”

Jonathan has already got his plans mapped out for the next few years. After he has completed his second year of the Level 3 course, he intends to stay at South & City College to study HND in Creative Media Production – Games, then go to university for a year to top-up to a degree.

When asked what advice he would give to his younger self, Jonathan replied, “Stop worrying about your performance, because there are many other opportunities further down the road. And never stop showing enthusiasm.”
