South & City College Birmingham has partnered with Mindful Education to deliver a flexible new apprenticeship in accounting.

The Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, which is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), delivers a solid foundation in finance administration, covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping and basic costing principles.

Eight apprentices began their studies last month. These apprentices will study Mindful Education’s high-quality learning materials online and will also attend regular classes at the college. This blended learning approach, known as Online and on Campus, means that apprentices spend less time away from the workplace, reducing disruption for employers and delivering the best of both worlds.

Mindful Education specialises in creating media-rich professional courses and apprenticeships in accounting, management, law and human resources. Delivered in partnership with colleges across the UK, their award-winning Online and On Campus courses combine the flexibility of online learning with the benefits of face-to-face lessons in the classroom.

Mark Mckenna, Mindful Education’s Managing Director said: “We are absolutely delighted to be launching this Level 3 apprenticeship with our newest college partner, South & City College Birmingham. We hope that employers across the region will benefit from the flexibility offered by our Online and On Campus apprenticeships.”
