Now in its sixth year, the Growth Through People campaign offers training to local companies to help them boost productivity through better leadership and team management skills. The college is supporting this campaign as one of the headline partners.
Free training sessions, workshops and webinars alongside research and thought leadership content will be delivered by the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce together with partners and Chamber members.
The campaign will start on Monday (28 February) with Growth Through Responsible Leadership Week and end with a conference on 30 March at Eastside Rooms.
Each week of the campaign will offer a talk or event with expert advice on a different aspect of leadership. These events will be supported by podcasts and blog posts about relevant topics.
Emily Stubbs, policy and projects manager at the Chamber, said: “We are incredibly excited to kick off the Growth Through People campaign next week, sharing expertise from our headline sponsors and partners, as well as other organisations from across Chamber membership.
“Effective leadership and people management is fundamental to business productivity and growth.
“We’re excited to work with South and City College Birmingham to share some of their expertise, in particular on attracting, developing and unlocking the potential of talented individuals within your business throughout the campaign.”
Rebecca Waterfield, deputy director – employer engagement and apprenticeships, South and City College Birmingham, said: “We are delighted to sponsor Growth through People 2022. Our region is now emerging from the pandemic and vacancy rates are on the rise.
“The difficult recruitment market many organisations are facing has highlighted the importance of attracting, recruiting and retaining the right people to ensure business success.
“Supporting individuals into work and to progress and prosper in their careers is at the heart of what we do here at the college.
“With thousands of students studying with us to gain the skills and qualifications needed to enter the region’s economy and a number of initiatives to support in-work learning and development, we feel the Growth through People Campaign is an excellent vehicle to support business access to a range of tool kits to develop the workforce to meet current and future needs.”
