The college has been a regular participant in the Pride parade since 2014. September 2022 marked the 25th year of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
Birmingham Pride weekend has become an important LGBTQ+ festival in the UK, attracting over 40,000 people to the festival site in the heart of the LGBTQ+ village and more than 75,000 participating in or watching the annual Pride parade through the streets of Birmingham.
This year the parade started at 11am in Centenary Square, where organisations and participants gathered in their hundreds creating a fantastic atmosphere for all, while waiting for the parade to kick off making its way through the city, ending close to the Hippodrome. The pink South & City College bus was joined by volunteer staff and friends of the college, together with crowd pleasing performers: Arron the stilt walker and Bhangra Smash Up drummers.
The college would like to say a big thank you to everyone that was involved to help make the event such a big success and lots of fun was had by all involved.
Birmingham Pride 2023 returns to its usual month of May and will be held over the bank holiday weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May.
