Mumtaz Hussain

Mumtaz Hussain Mrs. Mumtaz J Hussain is an experienced solicitor specialising in civil litigation/dispute resolution for many years. She joined the University of Wolverhampton in September 1996 and currently serves as Deputy Head of Wolverhampton Law School. With over 25 years of experience in leading legal studies in Higher Education, she holds the title of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In addition to her academic role, Mumtaz has advised and served as an external examiner for various higher education institutions in England and Scotland. She has also been a governor for City College Birmingham and Nelson Mandela Primary School. Mumtaz was a member of Birmingham Cross City Clinical Commissioning Group within the NHS. Her exceptional contributions to innovative legal education have earned her numerous awards. Mumtaz has roots in the West Midlands, having received her education there, from school to Bournville College, Coventry, and Wolverhampton Universities. Mumtaz joined the Corporation in July 2023 and is part of the Higher Education Oversight Committee. She is dedicated to understanding the needs of South and City College students' communities and is passionate about creating an enabling learning environment for them to reach their full potential.
