Ready for take-off? Our Level 2 Foundation Travel and Cabin Crew students certainly are, after their exciting and enlightening day trip learning the ins and outs of the aviation experience.
But where was this airport that they visited? Heathrow? Gatwick? How about Barnsley, South Yorkshire? That’s right, don’t stow away your luggage just yet – this flight was very much grounded… it was an educational experience all along!
FlyMe’s immersive aviation training facilities included a genuine Boeing 737 aircraft as well as check-in, a departure lounge, security gates and air traffic control. The students also met two experienced Cabin Crew members from Jet2 and TUI.
It gave them a real look into the Cabin Crew’s responsibility for their passengers at every step – safely operating aircraft doors, an in-flight drinks service, fire training, cabin safety drills and even a quick trip down the evacuation slide.
Student Hanin said of the trip: “The day out really helped me with my assignments. I have so much more knowledge about how to do emergency situations. I have already applied to Emirates and Jet2 while doing the course, I’m just waiting to hear back!”
Student Lindon said: “I enjoyed the flight simulator! That was amazing, I’ve always wanted to do that and I landed a plane safely.
People think Cabin Crew are only about serving tea and coffee. But when you get into the course, you learn it’s so much more. I definitely would recommend the Travel & Cabin Crew course.”
