Centrally located in the Digbeth area, Birmingham Industrial Therapy Association (BITA) Pathways is the largest independent voluntary sector provider of learning and work services for adults with mental ill health. They offer a recovery focused service that provides opportunities designed to assist adults experiencing mental illness in working towards employment through personal training and support.
Nazmin left school and worked in a shop but after caring for her Grandmother following a stroke, she realised that could be an ideal career for her. An apprenticeship in health and social care opened doors for her to work in her dream organisation, the NHS.
After Jo left school he started work in the construction industry and whilst he enjoyed it, he didn’t have any clear career progression. Jo enrolled on a level 3 construction management course at the college, and then continued onto a HNC in construction. He is now close to promotion in work and will be completing a full degree at university which will take him one step closer to fulfilling his career goals.
