This course is perfect if you want a career in the fashion industry. Over two years you will learn all the essential skills of fashion and textile design from sketching your designs to getting them catwalk ready. You will develop your ideas and concepts, learn about materials, techniques and processes and create your own collection of garments.

Description

Throughout the course you will study visual recordings in art and design, ideas and concepts and communication. You will also look at current styles and fashions and how they affect the fashion industry. You will develop your style and create a portfolio of work.

You will be based in our new, airy and creative fashion hub at the Fusion Campus which is ideally located only a few minutes walk from the Bullring and the famous Birmingham Rag Markets. You will learn from tutors who have worked and are still working in the fashion and textiles industry and they will help you develop a real understanding of professional working practices within the fashion industry. Fashion students get involved in many fashion shows and events both within the college and throughout the city. You will be able to have your garments walked down the catwalk at our sell-out end of year fashion show and actively work on live projects with reputable companies and house hold names like Ikea and Harvey Nichols.
