Studying a course in business or finance can open up doors to a career in a wide range of industries and can also provide you with the knowledge needed to start up your own business. It is business and finance that drives the world’s economy, and every successful organisation has an element of business and finance to them – from charities to government to multi-national organisations, they all rely upon business disciplines such as HR, marketing and finance to function.

In Birmingham, 20% of people working are in business and professional services — this is higher than the average in across the rest of the UK. In fact, Birmingham has the largest financial sector outside London, employing about 90,000 people. We are also the home to 19 out of the top 20 accountancy companies in the UK.
