Summary

The AAT Diploma in Accounting is a part-time course designed for people who want to enter work or are already working in the accounting field.

Description

The course is the second step to gaining a professional qualification on the Association of Accounting Technicians programme. Studying on the programme will give you exposure to all the main principles of accounting and you will also work on accounting packages such as spreadsheet software. The course will also equip you with relevant knowledge of accounting standards and ethics. Units studied will be, accounts preparation (ACPR), prepare final accounts for sole traders and partnerships (FSTP), cost & revenues (CSTR), indirect tax (ITAX), professional ethics (PETH) and spreadsheet software (SDST). You will be required to join the professional Association of Accounting Technicians as you will be studying for professional exams.

The course is examination based and you will sit the exams at regular intervals throughout the year, you will need to pass all examinations to succeed on the course. Additionally at the end of the academic year you will be required to take a synoptic assessment.

What Next

On successful completion students may progress onto Level 4 AAT or HND/HNC. Learners may consider an apprenticeship or seek employment in the industry.

Entry Criteria

Successful achievement at level 2 AAT first time exam sittings and A-C including English & maths. Successful enrolment on to the level 3 AAT requires a 2 stage interview process.
